THE EXPERIENCE
Photographing families is one of the most meaningful parts of what I do. So many families first come to me for milestone or child sessions and later realize they want the whole crew included—because the focus is never stiff posing or forced smiles, but real connection.
My approach is centered around capturing your family as you actually are together: the laughter, the movement, the little in-between moments, and even the chaos that makes your story yours. With over 15 years of experience, I’ve learned that the most beautiful images come from letting personalities shine instead of trying to control every moment.
Every session begins with a questionnaire and a conversation so I can get to know your people—the personalities, the dynamics, and what makes your family unique. From there, your session is shaped specifically around you, so it feels natural, relaxed, and true to your family.
And yes—many hesitant parents (and especially skeptical dads and energetic little ones) end up surprised by how fun it actually is. The goal is always the same: to create an experience where you can just be together, while I handle turning those real moments into lasting memories.

Things to know before your session...
I absolutely love photographing children. As a former elementary teacher and mom of three, I understand just how important it is to capture the real smiles—the kind that come from genuine laughter, curiosity, and connection.
Kids experience the world so differently than we do as adults.
Their imagination is wide open, their expressions are honest, and their joy is unfiltered. My goal is to capture who they are in this season of life, so you can remember not just how they looked, but who they truly were in that moment.
Every stage matters—from tiny newborn features to the big personalities of the teen years. Each session is designed to honor this season of your child’s life in a natural and meaningful way.

what to wear
For kids, I recommend keeping things simple, comfortable, and true to their personality. If you’re choosing a single outfit, stick with something classic, neutral, or something that really feels like them. I’m happy to help you decide from a few options if you’re unsure.
If your session includes multiple outfits, I suggest:
One classic, timeless look
One outfit that fully reflects their personality (yes—this is where the superheroes, bold patterns, or “signature style” outfits come in!)
I want them to show up as themselves, so if your child dresses like Spider-Man or channels their inner Punky Brewster, bring it—we’ll use it.
For family sessions, a good starting point is choosing mom’s outfit first (or one key pattern/texture for a child if needed), and then building everyone else’s wardrobe around that for a cohesive look.
Please avoid logos, busy graphics, and neon colors, as they tend to distract in photos and can reflect unwanted color onto skin tones.

What to expect
Expect laughter, play, and a genuinely good time.
I use a very relaxed, interactive approach so kids feel comfortable being themselves. If there’s a favorite “funny person” in your family who can make them laugh, feel free to bring them along to help behind the scenes when needed—it truly helps!
And yes, you may hear me use a few unexpected words like “fart,” “poop,” or “hot dog” during a session. If it gets a genuine laugh, it’s worth it.
While I’m naturally an introvert, I’m very intentional about creating a space where kids feel safe, relaxed, and free to be themselves—because that’s where the real magic happens.

Every session includes the time and care I put into capturing and editing your memories, along with high-resolution digital images delivered in an online gallery. I focus on creating a relaxed, natural experience where everyone feels comfortable and included. There’s no pressure for perfect poses—just space to connect, laugh, and enjoy being together while I take care of the rest.
These sessions can take place in a location that feels meaningful to you. That might be the comfort of your family home, a scenic mountaintop, downtown streets with character, or even my studio depending on the size of your group and the overall feel you’re going for.
