When Your Friend Finds Her Person

There are sessions I photograph because I love what I do, and then there are sessions that mean a little more because of who is standing in front of my camera. Sarah's engagement session was definitely one of those.


I've known and loved Sarah for years, and there is something incredibly special about watching someone you care about find a person who loves them so genuinely and so dearly. Seeing her this happy, comfortable and completely herself with him made my heart happy in a whole different way. She deserves a love that feels steady, safe and full of laughter, and getting to see a little glimpse of that from behind my camera was pretty special.


Their session was filled with the kind of moments I love most. The laughs that happen without prompting, the way they naturally fall into each other, the little looks between poses, and all those in-between moments that tell you so much more than a perfectly posed photograph ever could. They made my job easy because the connection was already there. I just got to document it.

Engagement sessions aren't only about having beautiful photographs for announcements or save-the-dates. They're about documenting this tiny chapter before it becomes the next one. Someday these photographs won't just be engagement pictures. They'll be a reminder of what it felt like when forever was still something they were looking forward to.


And for this one, I wasn't just the photographer.


I was the friend behind the camera thinking, finally.


Sarah, I couldn't be happier for you. Seeing you loved so well is a beautiful thing, and I'm so thankful I got to photograph a little piece of this story for you both.
