The red, white, and blue outfits are adorable. The little flags, summer sunshine, and patriotic setups always make for beautiful photographs. And yes, I absolutely love getting those smiling faces looking right at my camera. But if you've ever worked with me, you know that's never my only goal. I've always been drawn to the moments in between.
Because years from now, I don't want you to just remember what everyone looked like.
I want you to remember who they were. Their curls, their big laugh you can hear from the face they made, their favorite toys that they just had to bring to the session. I want you to remember the missing front teeth, the way your little boy couldn't stand still for more than three seconds, the way your baby wrapped both hands around your finger, and the season of life your family was living right then.
